As the sixth annual issue of the Muslim 500: recognizing the World’s 500 most Influential Muslims is published globally, It counts 1.7 billion Muslims in the world today, making up approximately 23% of the world’s population, or one-fifth of mankind. The Influential 500 Muslims as well as being citizens of their respective countries, they also have a sense of belonging to the ‘ummah’, the worldwide Muslim community. This publication sets out to ascertain the influence some Muslims have on their community, or on behalf of the community on their country. The publication defines Influence is: any person who has the power; be it cultural, social, ideological, political or academic to make a change that will have a significant impact on the Muslim world.
One such Muslim nominated from Pakistan is young and trailblazing Chaudhry Faisal Mushtaq TI, an academic, teaching and social entrepreneurial Founder and Chief Executive Roots Millennium Schools who has made it to the list of “The Muslim 500” 2014-2015 Edition which includes the names of 500 most influential Muslims from around the world. Other names on the list include the names of personalities including His Majesty King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud King of Saudi Arabia and Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, His Eminence Professor Dr Sheikh Ahmad Muhammad Al-Tayyeb Grand Sheikh of the Al-Azhar University, His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein King of Jordon, His Excellency President Recep Tayyip Erdogan President of Turkey, His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan Ruler of Dubai & Crown Prince, Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif of Pakistan, Adul Sattar Edhi, Imran Khan and many more. Faisal Mushtaq is one of the 36 other Pakistanis whose names have been added to the most influential list. This recognition comes from the King of Jordan’s council which recognizes the most influential Muslims of the World.
The 500 most influential listing in the category of development under country Pakistan is testament to Faisal’s contagious passion for social innovation through classrooms and education. Mr. Mushtaq has excelled at providing a quality education for millions of people, an initiative that has occupied fifteen years of his life. He encourages ‘academic excellence’, ‘student achievement’, ‘social entrepreneurship’ and ‘opportunity for all’. He has also been an attendee at the World Economic Forum and was also awarded the one of Highest National Civil Award of Tamgha-i-Imtiaz by the President of Pakistan on Pakistan National Day 23rd March 2013 at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad in recognition of his extraordinary services in the field of Education, youth, development and promotion of Chinese Language across Pakistan.
Recently Faisal Mushtaq has also been awarded as the “Best Educationist of the Year 2014” by the President of Pakistan and “Best Young Entrepreneur” for the year 2011 by the Prime Minister of Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Mr. Mushtaq serves as an inspiration for all the young entrepreneurs in Pakistan and throughout the world especially the Muslim World, who learn from his passion, dynamic personality, and social entrepreneurship skills.
